Safari park in Primorye has become known far beyond the region due to the unbelievable story of long and very touching friendship of the tiger named Amur and the goat named Timur. The animals lived together in the same aviary and did everything together, walked, played ball, slept and even ate. Many TV companies of the world, including the BBC and My Planet have repeatedly made films about the local inhabitants.
Safari Park is the landscape park. It is located in the forest area with beautiful relief. The animals live here in their usual conditions, walk free but just limited by several hectares. There are no cages or fences and visitors can watch tigers, leopards, large Himalayan bears from special pedestrian bridges.
The Park is like visual material of biodiversity of Primorye to study. There are 70 species of animals. Here you will meet raccoon dogs, bears, forest cats, deer – both small dappled deer and huge noble ones, which are called red deer in the Far East and also wolves, including the rarest red wolves. You can feed and stroke many of these animals.
The park solves several tasks: environmental education, helping wounded and sick animals, releasing the animals that had come to life. By the way, there were cases of voluntary return to the park. It is like pets which find their way home thousands of kilometers away.
